Climate & Ecological Emergency Declaration

Dudley Students’ Union recognises that the world is facing a climate emergency, with rising global temperatures, melting ice caps, extreme weather events, and loss of biodiversity becoming increasingly severe. These changes are not distant concerns—they are affecting lives, communities, and ecosystems now, and their impact will only intensify without significant global attention.

We declare this climate emergency to highlight the urgency of the crisis and the need for collective mobilisation. As representatives of the student community, we understand the important role we all play in addressing this challenge. Our declaration reflects our commitment to the planet, future generations, and the need to protect our shared environment from further harm.

This moment is an opportunity to stand together in recognising the severity of the climate & ecological crisis and to affirm our dedication to being part of the solution.

In Solidarity,

Jack Stokes, The President of Dudley College Students' Union on behalf of the Students' Union Leadership Team.
