Elected Presidents work on behalf of students to make the Dudley College student experience the best it can be, leading your Union and combatting the issues that affect you.

Please see below information about the achivements, projects, extra responsibilities and campaigns undertaken by each President in addition to the annual calendar. 

Jack Stokes

Jack joined Dudley College in 2020- he has served on Dudley Students’ Union Leadership Team as the LGBTQ+ Officer during 2020-2021 and in the following 2 academic years as the Vice President of Campaigns and the Vice President of Finance and being appointed Student Governor and SU Chair in March 2022. These posts were held whilst studying for an Applied Science BTEC Level 3, eventually Jack was duly elected as your President in 2023 and 2024 and secured a mind-blowing 73% of the vote.Learn more about me here!

2023 - 2025

Mollie-Amelia Hehir

Mollie came to Dudley college straight from school. Having to finish the last year of school with online learning, she came to college with less social experience then she would usually have and was quite shy, like many people coming out of the lockdown. She came to college and studied health and social care. The SU helped with her confidence and mental health so she decided to stand for President at 17 to give back to students.Learn more about me here!

2021 - 2023

Helen Lawley

"Helen was a mature, disabled student studying Motor Vehicle maintenance and came to Dudley Students' Union to help with their various activities. In 2020, she ran for presidency during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic and was elected into the role in the first virtual-only Student Elections. She has focused on accessibility to remote learning, protested for free school meals and made sure information about the pandemic that was understandable and accessible to students.Learn more about me here!

Aldrich Gonsalves

"Aldrich joined the Students' Union whilst studying an ESOL course in 2016. To complete his course, an element of Work Experience was needed, so he approached the SU for a volunteering position. For some time he helped the SU promote trips and activities, whilst attending them himself."Learn more about me here!

2018 - 2020

Dan Wood

"Dan Wood came to Dudley College straight after school to study Public Services Level 3 from 2014 - 16. Dan had no knowledge of the SU prior to standing in the election for President but was encouraged by his tutor who thought it would be a great opportunity for him."Learn more about me here!

2016 - 2018

Thierno Diallo

"Thierno was an ESOL student in the academic year 2013-2014. Coming from overseas, he enrolled onto an ESOL course to learn English. He became a class rep and started taking part in the Students’ Union (SU) activities and was very impressed by the way the SU represent the students. He became an active member of the SU by volunteering, attending meetings, joining SU trips and events."Learn more about me here!

Kelly Russell

"Kelly joined the college in 2011 to study Administration Level 3. She had returned to her studies for a career change. Being a mature learner, she already had experience of juggling work, studying and family life. Kelly first became interested in the work of the SU when she undertook 2 weeks work experience in the SU office as part of her course."Learn more about me here!
