A manifesto is a plan of jobs related to the things you wish to do whilst in post and what you would like to improve for the student body at Dudley College.
Some examples are:
- I will ensure more class reps are elected at my campus
- I will ensure that I voice student opinions
- I will maintain notice boards so that students know what events and trips are planned
Don’t forget to include whatever is specific for the role you are applying for!
Take time to think about what you would like to achieve, what issues Dudley College students are passionate about and what they would like you to campaign on.
Remember not to promise things that there will be no chance of happening. For example, free trip to Alton Towers for everyone - The union would not be able to afford it!
Take your time to think about what you would like to achieve what issues do Dudley College/Sixth students face. What would they like you to campaign on and change?
You may not be able to do all the things in your manifesto, but you should aim to do as much as you can to fulfil the pledges you have made.
Try to think about:
- What is important to Dudley College students in terms of their overall experience?
- Use clear language and avoid long complicated words - you don’t want to alienate potential voters.
- Make sure your goals are realistic
If you're passionate, dedicated and committed, don’t hold yourself back!
Nominate yourself and see what happens!
