Aims of the Post:

• Support the SU President in delivering on strategic objectives.
• Represent the SU President and the Union in meetings and events if the President is unable and assist in delivering on projects/initiatives the SU is undertaking.
• The Vice President will shadow and learn from the SU President (mentor-mentee).
• Take responsibility for ensuring team spirit in the SU Leadership Team, fostering a connected and inclusive culture.

Biography:

My name is Atifa, I study Level 3 Applied Sciences, and I’m originally from Afghanistan. My background is what inspired me to pursue the role of Assistant President of Education. In Afghanistan, female students, especially, face major difficulties under the Taliban’s rule, which doesn’t allow access to the education they deserve. Many third-world countries often lack the resources and opportunities that we, as students in the UK, have. My aim is to raise awareness about global education, helping students here recognise their privileges and encouraging them to make the most of the opportunities available to them.
